Joann Oyola, Intern
Joann Oyola is an intern at White Stone Resources. She is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling to receive her state licensure as a licensed professional counselor (LPC) at Trinity International Divinity School in Deerfield, IL. She received her B.A. in Business Administration from Interamerican University of Puerto Rico and is a member of the American Counseling Association.
Having deep roots in Chicago and a period of immersion in Puerto Rican culture, she offers a unique blend of understanding and empathy for individuals who have experienced transition and adaptation. Joann understands the challenges faced with integration into a different culture.
With a compassionate and understanding approach, Joann fosters a safe space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences. Integrating Biblical truth into counseling, she empowers individuals to find healing from trauma, depression, anxiety, and cognitive distortions, enabling them in leading more fulfilling lives. She is dedicated to supporting others on their path to freedom, spiritual and personal growth, utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. As a bilingual (English/ Spanish) counselor, she offers sessions in both languages.
Joann enjoys mentoring young women in her free time as they strengthen their identity in Christ and serves alongside her husband as ministry leaders at their church.
