Josiah Goering, M.A., LPC
Josiah is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Illinois and a Nationally Certified Counselor through the National Board of Certified Counselors. He received his M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. Prior to counseling, Josiah spent 12 years as a youth pastor teaching, encouraging, and caring for teenagers and their families and continues to be active in his church.
As a counselor Josiah is passionate about helping others create balance, meaning, and authenticity in their lives by simplifying, inspiring, and offering insight. He believes that real and lasting change is possible in a person's life. This process often starts by exploring his clients' values and how they align with their thoughts and actions. Then, he helps clients identify practical and creative solutions that can help them reach their goals. Josiah sees the therapist-client relationship as a sacred connection dedicated to personal growth that far outreaches just the content discussed in session. He creates a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to learn and practice relational skills that extends into their daily lives and relationships.
Josiah offers individual counseling to high school-aged students, emerging adults, and adults. He has experience helping his clients work through a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, addiction, spiritual issues, life transitions, grief, relationship concerns, and executive skills deficiencies. He also enjoys working with pre-marital/marital couples and is certified with Prepare and Enrich.
Josiah is married and has two young children, a daughter and son. In his free time he enjoys taking walks in nature, watching Colorado sports, playing board games, and traveling the world with his wife.
