Jamie Mason, Intern
Jamie Mason, a third-year Masters in Science student in National Louis University's Clinical Mental Health in Counseling program, is working to receive her state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She received her B.S. in Theology from Northwestern University in St. Paul, Minnesota, and belongs to the Illinois Counseling Association.
Jamie has served junior high and high school students and their families as a youth pastor for more than 25 years in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Illinois. She also has enjoyed interacting with elementary school students while working in the Lake County area school districts in after-school programs and as an administrative assistant.
Jamie's counseling approach is to partner with clients by walking with them on their paths to self-discovery and empowering them to choose the life of love, connection, and purpose they are seeking. Her goal is to help individuals answer life questions and heal from past pain, whether from abuse, broken relationships, or family-of-origin issues, or work through spiritual struggles, by providing them with a safe, accepting, non-judgmental space.
Jamie loves meeting friends for coffee, hiking, biking, relaxing on a beach, or just going to dinner and a good movie with friends. Her greatest joy is spending time with her family of grown nieces and nephews ranging in age from 16 to 30 and spoiling them and their kids as much as possible.
