Estefania (Stefany) Nilsen, M.A., LPC
Estefania (also goes by Stefany) is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Illinois. She completed her M.A. in Mental Health Counseling at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and her B.A. in Christian Ministries with a dual emphasis in Counseling and Youth Ministry at Trinity International University.
Stefany enjoys working with individuals, groups, parents, families, and ages 4 through early college. She enjoys helping people be able to discuss and explore any issues that they may be encountering in life. Working with children is one of her favorite things to do because she loves the enthusiasm and energy that comes along with counseling children. When working with families she looks at the entire family system, yet tries to create a space where everyone feels welcomed, heard, and accepted. Her therapy style is not only traditional talk therapy, but also incorporates play and art therapy.
Outside of the office, Stefany serves her local church in the Youth Ministry and from time to time in the Children's Ministry as well. Stefany is passionate about time with friends, and family, traveling, and serving others in the community. She is married and the mother of two wonderful kids and a fun-loving dog. Her hobbies revolve around movie watching, crafting, home projects, and listening to music.
